I was researching paintings to get inspired for my new home decor and I had the luck to come across one of Afremov's famous paintings. I fell in love right away and the more I searched for different art pieces from him the more I wanted to learn about this artist.
So, who is Afremov? He's a Russian–Israeli modern impressionistic that works mainly with a palette knife and oils, which is a very particular way of painting.
He developed his own unique technique and style which is unmistakable. Leonid is a self-representing artist who promotes and sells his work exclusively over the internet - before this he was actually struggling. He does just a few exhibitions and has little involvement with dealers and galleries so you should check his website, the paintings are incredibly affordable!
These paintings take us to colourful, happy, nostalgic places and show us please in love, dancing, singing and enjoying life. One thing is sure: Afremov certainly earned a place in one of my walls.
So, as everyone else at this point, I've watched the blockbusterSuicide Squad and although I have to agree with the critics and say I expected better from this movie, I also want to mention that I actually loved Margot Robbie as the crazy beautiful Harley Quinn.
I admit that her role is not as challenging as it should have been and that it portraits women in an not-so-pretty-and-a-little-bit-sexist-way BUT lets not forget that's she's playing a psychopath killer in love with another one. I had fun while watching the movie and I decided to analyse it in an optimist way: Harley Quinn being the most relatable girl on earth. May I explain my point:
1. At some point, even a crazy one just needs to relax in her cell (aka room, for example) and sip a cup of coffee while reading a nice book.
2. Outfit crisis: I mean, dressing for a work meeting or dressing for a fight against an ancient creature who possessed Cara Delevingne's body, kind of the same thing, right?
3. The voices. Who doesn't have them? That Devil in your head that comes up sometimes to tell you "Yeah, that's a great idea, you should do that". Nope, abort mission.
4. Note: a girl should have time for her yoga lessons.
5. She's just a crazy girl in love and this is where every one of us can definitely relate. Who hasn't done crazy stuff for a loved one?
The lesson here: sometimes you just have to go a little nuts and enjoy the ride!
One grunge flip of hair, a sip of whiskey in a coffee mug, leather skinny jeans and a ripped shirt, hint of dirty, sexy vocals and you're hooked. She's got you. And who is she?
She is the Rock goddess, Metamorphosis queen, indie rock it girl or...let's make it simpler you can just call her Alison Mosshart.
So, my newest obsession is The Kills front woman. When I start to annoy everybody with it, it's time to take it up with the blog. In my diggings through Alison life, I put together a post on 10 things you don't know about the cool girl of rock.
So sit back, put on The Kills playlist on random and enjoy it.
1. Sunshine state girl. Alison was in a punk rock band in Florida before The Kills. Now, she's been living in London since 2002.
2. Artistic Soul. Mosshart juggles 3 jobs: 2 bands and one solo gig as a painter. You can see the canvas on her Instagram. Plus, she's the front woman of the Kills and The Dead Weather.
3. Hair changes: she's done red, platinum blonde and fierce black. It all looks good and cool as hell.
4. She sings with Jack White rumor has it the two are more than just friends. Or at least this super fan wishes that to be real. This couple would be the epitome of cool.
5. Mosshart persued Jaimie Hince and bullied him into getting in a band with her, once they started doing music together he was the one to encourage the band momento."I was persistent, and eventually we started writing and he encouraged me". Thank god for it.
6. Supermodel life. Her companion Hince is married to Kate Moss. Alison was the best woman at his weeding.
7. Mosshart has a feud with Moss. Rumour has it that the queen of the runways isn't too fond of the relationship Alison has with Jaimie. Could it because of this little ritual?
8. And of course, she'a a designer too. Alison's just designed a leather jacket for the Parisian fashion group Surface to Air, inspired by a photo of Lou Reed.
9.Open Road is her thing. She's writing new Kills songs at the wheel – "literally, with a pen and a paper. Believe me, it's so dangerous..."
10. Inspiration at kindergarten. Her mother, a high school art teacher, entertained her with pens, paints, markers and paper. She would sit in one place and work on her projects for hours at a time.
Well, Well. It may not seem like it but summer is upon us.
We all have that one friend that does the transition ever so cool from boots to sneakers to sandals, you don't even notice. And then there is the other friend that is a little more drastic and takes it from wearing boots all the time to suddenly switches to sandals and only takes the off in october...to wear boots again.
And then there's people that turns the transition with a public issue. That's me. For the past weeks, I've come to notice that I only have closed shoes, high heels or sneakers. To add to the tragedy, they are ALL black. ALL. I mean all.
So I for weeks been doing a survey of what's the best the market has to offer. I mean to be the spiritual guide to every lazy girl so you don't have to move your ass and you might actually like theses sandals for your summer.
Weeks of study turns into this. I hope you guys like and find it useful for those who really love to get what you want without moving your ass. Aww that's so me. Visit our Pinterest or Instagram to keep up with us.
A week ago I came to the conclusion that I am sweet enough already. I was eating too much chocolates, cookies, *insert everything that tastes good but is unhealthy as hell*, etc. I felt like I was loosing control and I realised that no matter how many miles I'm running, this quantity of sugar cannot be good for my body.
After thinking about what was going on, I set a date and from April 25th I've been doing my 30 day sugar free challenge and so far, I'm killing it!
First of all, I defined sugar. Since it is everywhere, I decided that I was quitting the things that I know are the most harmful, so for 30 days I won't eat any candy, biscuits, cakes, baked goods, packaged foods or chocolates. It's not easy and I had to re thing my choices but still, I already believe it is very rewarding.
These are three simple tips that will help you succeeding your 30 day challenge:
Drink a lot of water: it will keep you hydrated, there's no calories and your skin will thank you later,
Eat fruit: you still need sugar so this is the healthiest way to ingest it,
Make sure your friends understand your motivation and fully support you!
If you're interested in learning more about this subject and you're thinking about doing your own challenge, you can also watch this simple animation explaining what's happening with our eating habits and how they are affecting our health:
Today it's the 8th day of my challenge and I'm feeling great.. and actually very proud of myself.
Feel free to try it, I assure you that you won't regret it!
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are officially our couple crush for this week: how awesome do they look on their Vogue photoshoot by Mario Testino? The stylish model and the ex One Direction singer look like a match made in heaven!

Got us thinking about how lame our Tuesday was, right? Or is it just me?
I wish I had Mario Testino following me around and taking these pictures!
Here's some music inspiration for your week as well:
As you all probably know, the American actress, writer and producer was the awesome Kelly Kapoor on The Office and she is now the star of her own TV show, The Mindy Project. She is as funny as witty and she is clearly not afraid of making fun of herself, which is something that I can highly relate to.
These are the reasons why Mindy is actually all of us:
1. Just because sometimes you hate your life and everyone around you sucks. Because Mondays, TPM, and 5 sudden extra pounds on the scale. That's why.
2. But you know what? You've been complaining for a whole week and now Friday is here and you don't care any more. So you go all in and this is what happens:
3. And since you are now a hot mess, you decide that you actually look so good on the mirror you need to fix what's on the inside as well. Instant solution: channelling Beyoncé.
4. Problem solved. Time to find the perfect guy because you're a pretty perfect lady who knows what she wants.
5. In the meantime you find the guy and after a while remember that no man will ever understand the mind of a well educated, well fed and even better dressed woman and this is your reaction:
This is what the plus size model and body activist had to say on her instagram about the magazine's choice: "Truly speechless!!! This cover is for every woman who felt like she wasn't beautiful enough because of her size. You can do and achieve anything you put your mind to."
Ashley is changing the fashion industry and I believe we need more of that. It's time to stop this sick and cruel obsession with weight, with sizes, with false and delusional perfection. I invite you to listen to her TED talk and learn something about body diversity and self acceptance:
"I felt free, once I realized I was never going to fit the narrow mold that society wanted me to fit in. I was never going to be perfect enough for an industry that defines perfection from the outside in, and that's okay."
Valentine's day is almost here and I've warned you before that there are no haters aloud when it comes to celebrating love! I'm not a big fan of huge and expensive gifts on this day but I do believe that we are all entitled to show our significant other how much we love them... and if there's a date for that, even better!
Just keep in mind that one day a year is not enough to make anyone happy, there are things you can - and should - do for your girl all year to make her feel loved and appreciated, It's so simple to make someone happy and even so, we seem to fail so many times!
So, listen to the person you love, kiss her/him a lot, show her/him how much they mean to you, not only with empty words but with gestures and attitudes. If you are not in a relationship, well, lucky you, this is a great excuse to buy yourself something you've been wanting and to offer a box of chocolates to your mom, your best friend, your little brother, whomever you love and cherish.
Today, I'm writing about cinnamon: I decided that in 2016 I would start taking my healthy lifestyle attempts more seriously - this must be an effect of late twenty's consciousness or something - so I'm investing on some research about healthy food.
I've heard about the benefits of cinnamon and I wanted to share these tips with you. According to what I've read, this super spice will influence your health in several ways:
1. Blood Sugar Control;
2.It has antifungal, antibacterial, and even antiviral properties; 3. Helps your brain function: 4. Lowers the risk of Heart Disease; 5. It may have beneficial effects on neurodegenerative diseases;
6. Has been widely studied for its potential use in cancer prevention and treatment.
I just want to stress that I'm not an expert in nutrition but I'll keep writing about the good things I find on my research so I can contribute with some tips for your well being too!
Are we asking too much? Nope, I'm pretty sure we aren't.
Are we kicking ass most of the time on a professional and personal level? Hell, yes.
It's actually quite simple: we want equality, we want to be appreciated for what we are and we want to be respected. This isn't a women's problem: this is what everyone, everywhere, desires and deserves. So, yes, I want to live in a culture that does all these things, where I can celebrate myself and everyone around me, regardless of their gender, weight, colour, bra size, {insert everything else that we judge and criticize}.
